It is an understatement to say that I was disappointed by our season ending loss to the Skyline Raiders Saturday afternoon. The final score of the contest does not reflect the intensity with which our boys played. They gave 100% for a full 48 minutes.  In my last column I told you that the Raiders were well matched with us in every respect, and they were.  They are a physical and disciplined team that gave us their best in this most crucial contest. In the end we simply came up short.
While our 2011 season came to a premature end many of our players' football days are far from over. We have several Division I committed players. More will sign on with other post high school programs and still others will pursue other athletic roles and endeavors. Their journeys have just begun.
To all our players I extend my heart felt gratitude and admiration. Throughout the season you continued to grow and learn both as football players and as men.  You came together as a team, worked diligently toward a common goal and went forward as brothers.  You played championship caliber football in 2011.  My pride in you is boundless.
To our parents, boosters, supporters and fans who have loyally and enthusiastically followed us through this remarkable journey I offer my sincere thanks for all you have contributed to our 2011 experience. You have been our backbone, our inspiration and our motivation to succeed.
To my graduating seniors I say that I am awed by each one of you.  It has been my great pleasure to watch you mature and grow from boys into young men. You inspire me every day.  I look forward to following your progress in the future.  May you continue to grow and lead prosperous and fulfilling lives. You will always be welcome on your team's sidelines.
Now the process begins anew for us.  We will begin to prepare for our 2012 season in January by carefully evaluating the 2011 performances of our underclassmen, substitute players and incoming freshmen. For now our teams, coaches, trainers and staff will take a well earned hiatus to enjoy the holiday season with our families, friends and loved ones.  Thank you all for your support in 2011. May you thrive and enjoy all the blessings of the season.  From each of your coaches, staff and administrators, thank you and may God bless you and yours.
